AU · WaterMark Certification Scheme; NCC Plumbing Code A5G4
Plumbing suitability and lead-free WaterMark requirements
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Plumbing and drainage products listed in the WaterMark Schedule, subject to the actual state/territory installation rules. Drinking-water-contact products have an additional lead-free scope.
Requirements
Match the product and use to the current schedule and its nominated specification. For identified products, lead-free requirements apply from 1 May 2026; this is distinct from water efficiency and from a general material-content claim.
Required Evidence
Retain the applicable WaterMark certificate, licensed model scope, product marking and underlying test reports. Verify the certificate issuer and current product record.
Comparison for the Awards
The award comparison must identify an applicable measurable requirement; WaterMark licensing by itself demonstrates an acceptance route, not superiority.
Version & Transition
The lead-free mandatory use date is 1 May 2026. Use current ABCB transition notices and schedules for the actual product rather than an older certificate's generic description.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
