Fall-protection systems: scope and system testing
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Fall-protection systems within the safety-belt standard, assessed for the stated worker, load and use. Sports, rescue and other specialised equipment require their own applicable scope.
Requirements
Identify the system and its harness, connectors and other components before applying relevant strength, dynamic performance, marking and manufacturer-information requirements. A harness-only report does not establish every system combination.
Required Evidence
Provide full system/component reports, compatibility and configuration, materials, use limitations and required inspection/maintenance information.
Comparison for the Awards
Greater static strength alone does not prove better fall arrest: dynamic forces, clearance and compatibility remain relevant to the actual protection.
Version & Transition
The official record lists GB 6095-2021 as current, effective 1 September 2022. Listed revision projects and neighbouring 2025 standards must not be mistaken for an automatic replacement.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
