KR · Energy Use Rationalization Act; efficiency management and standby-power operating notices
Energy efficiency and standby power: product-specific programmes
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Products designated for energy-efficiency management, including covered household equipment, lighting, motors, pumps and windows. High-efficiency certification and standby-power programmes have their own scope.
Requirements
Select the correct programme and current product schedule before applying a test method, minimum efficiency, grade or reporting duty. Do not treat a voluntary high-efficiency certificate as the same obligation as mandatory efficiency management.
Required Evidence
Retain the official test and declared configuration, category calculations, registration/reporting and required label. Check the test body's designation for the programme.
Comparison for the Awards
Compare the same product category under the same seasonal/operating conditions and formula. Efficiency grades do not justify a cross-product percentage claim.
Version & Transition
KEA's official register includes the 2026-137 operating-rule update and 2026-25 standby notice. Air-conditioner label and calculation changes are announced for 1 November 2026 and must remain date-specific.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
