Hazardous machinery: KCs certification and self-declaration
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Specified hazardous machines and devices. Presses, cranes, lifts and pressure vessels have certification entries; specified grinders, robots, conveyors, machine tools and woodworking equipment have separate self-declaration entries.
Requirements
Match the machine definition, capacity and exclusions before choosing the procedure and current safety notice. Certification includes more than a laboratory test, while self-declaration uses its own assessment and filing duties.
Required Evidence
Provide design, risk and protective-system records, full applicable product tests, manufacturer production information and the required certificate or filing.
Comparison for the Awards
A faster or more powerful machine is not necessarily above a safety requirement. Compare a defined protective performance within the same machine scope.
Version & Transition
KOSHA's English lists include historical notice numbers. Use them to locate the programme, then verify the operative Korean notice and applicable amendment before clause-level assessment.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
