KR · Safety-standard compliance provisions; household textile safety standard
Household textiles: safety-standard compliance
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Household textile goods within the KATS category; children's products use their own regime and must not be silently merged into this route.
Requirements
Meet the relevant chemical/safety and category labelling requirements. This compliance route does not impose the same compulsory product-test/certificate procedure as safety confirmation and does not permit KC marking solely on that basis.
Required Evidence
Retain material and chemical controls, relevant reports supporting the actual product and the required Korean product/care information.
Comparison for the Awards
Statutory freedom from a mandatory test does not supply an above-threshold result. GSQA assessment still needs reliable measured evidence against an applicable criterion.
Version & Transition
KATS links a household-textile standard effective 7 March 2024. Use the linked category text and later notices for the material and age in question.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
