KR · Water Supply and Waterworks Installation Act Article 14; hygienic certification rules
Water-contact products: hygienic safety certification
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Water-contact materials and products in the defined water-supply facility scope, excluding the listed intake/storage/conveyance facilities as specified by the scheme.
Requirements
Determine the covered product and wetted material, then apply material-specific leaching and hygienic requirements with the statutory certification procedure. This KC water certification is distinct from electrical safety and water-saving labels.
Required Evidence
Provide the relevant complete leaching reports, wetted-part formulation, certified model/material scope, factory-assessment records and required product/package marking.
Comparison for the Awards
Certified hygienic suitability is not proof of superior flow, durability or filtration. Each claimed advantage needs a relevant requirement and test method.
Version & Transition
Use the current Korea Water Technology Certification Institute scheme information and legal rules, not an electrical KC directory.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
