Jurisdiction & Product Scope
Determine the Japanese manufacturer or importer’s legal role and the exact listed product type. Registered conformity-assessment bodies, radio certification bodies and accredited laboratories serve different purposes; their current category and technical scope must match the work actually performed.
Market-specific Review
- For PSE, identify the listed item, the applicable technical route and whether a registered body is required; a CB report alone is insufficient.
- For wireless functions, verify the actual radio specifications, technical conformity records and marking route rather than relying on a foreign radio certificate.
- For food-contact products, trace materials, additives and intended use to the positive list and applicable migration requirements.
- Retain model correspondence, inspection records and Japanese instructions or labels; check PSC, household-goods labelling and energy rules where relevant.
