Other Countries & Regions

Define the actual country, local jurisdiction and intended use for a market-specific review.

Can products for other countries and territories be submitted?

Yes. Applications may identify other countries and territories as well as the eight market groups currently organised in the research centre. State the actual country or territory, product and intended use. Applicable requirements, laboratory acceptance and evidence are then examined for that specific market; selecting “Other countries and territories” does not establish eligibility or grant an award.

Do the eight research groups define the application scope?

The eight groups describe the research already organised by market; they are not a limit on application geography. Research helps locate official requirements and evidence routes. A formal assessment still identifies the actual country or territory and checks the product, applicable provisions and supporting documents individually.

How is one product assessed for several markets?

Retain the standard, edition, clause, report page and measured result together. Exceeding a standard on one parameter does not establish leadership in every aspect of performance. Each market must satisfy the conditions separately.

An award in the original market does not replace the requirements, institutional qualifications or documentation for a new market. Change requests are free of charge. Submission does not automatically alter the original record or licence.

What if requirements differ within a country or market?

Record the actual sales or installation jurisdiction, including the relevant state, province, constituent territory or member state where its rules affect the product. These requirements form part of the market assessment. A broad market label or an “Other” selection cannot replace the applicable local provisions.

Which laboratories may issue the reports?

Check the legal institutional name, actual test site, method and parameter scope, and qualification at the time of testing. Target-market requirements for specific acceptance, designation or listing are checked separately and are not interchangeable with general competence accreditation.

Some requirements call for specific regulatory acceptance, designation or listing. Others are checked against laboratory accreditation scope and competence. No single accreditation mark establishes eligibility in every market.
