Children's nightwear: fire hazard and labelling
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Children's nightwear, specified limited daywear and paper patterns within the instrument's definitions.
Requirements
Assess fabric and garment design against the incorporated requirements and apply the corresponding fire-hazard warning. Garment construction and labels accompany any fabric test.
Required Evidence
Provide sample identities, size range, fabric construction, conditioning/test records, garment measurements and final warning labels.
Comparison for the Awards
A warning category alone does not demonstrate a quantified safety margin; compare only a technically meaningful item under the accepted method.
Version & Transition
The regulator identifies AS/NZS 1249:2014 through the 2017 instrument; conformity has been required under this route since 1 January 2020.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
