Toys & Children’s Products · Australia

Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.

Jurisdiction & Product Scope

Check the destination state or territory and EESS participation before choosing the electrical route. NATA accreditation establishes a defined testing scope; it does not replace programme-specific laboratory acceptance, certification, supplier registration or product registration.

Market-specific Review

  • Determine electrical scope and risk level, local responsible supplier and applicable state requirements before applying the RCM.
  • Assess ACMA radio, EMC and exposure duties separately; a safety certificate alone does not establish ACMA compliance.
  • For covered products, match GEMS or WELS test results to the applicable determination or standard, registration and label.
  • For plumbing products, verify WaterMark scope and any relevant lead-free transition; retain installation limitations alongside water-efficiency evidence.

Covered consumer goods containing or intended to contain button/coin cells, subject to the instrument's professional-equipment and other exclusions.

Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
