AU · Consumer Goods (Toys for Children up to and including 36 Months of Age) Safety Standard
Toys for children up to 36 months
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Toys intended or reasonably suitable for children up to and including 36 months; age grading is part of the scope decision.
Requirements
Select one accepted standards route identified in the current instrument and apply its incorporated requirements and Australian conditions. Do not combine convenient provisions from different routes.
Required Evidence
Provide age assessment, complete test reports, component and material identification, accessible small-part assessment and required warnings.
Comparison for the Awards
Passing a no-small-part or no-sharp-edge requirement is not a numerical surplus. Any above-regulation claim requires a separate meaningful measurable criterion.
Version & Transition
Use the live ACCC instrument link and its accepted editions. Other toy chemical, magnet or battery requirements may apply separately.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
