Product-specific ecodesign and energy information
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Covered energy-related product groups, not all electrical products. Household refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines have separate scope definitions and measures; professional equipment, combined products, heaters and motors can follow different acts.
Requirements
For household refrigerators check 2019/2019 with energy labelling 2019/2016; dishwashers 2019/2022 with 2019/2017; washing machines/washer-dryers 2019/2023 with 2019/2014. Evaluate the prescribed efficiency calculation, water and functional performance, standby modes, resource-efficiency and information duties. Washing-machine comparisons use the defined eco 40–60 cycle and required load points, not an arbitrary quick wash.
Required Evidence
Provide complete measurement and calculation records, declared capacities and model variants, prescribed programmes and modes, technical documentation, required label and product information, EPREL record where required and spare-parts/repair information.
Comparison for the Awards
Compare against the legal minimum using the exact formula, capacity, load and date tier. Market-surveillance verification tolerances are not extra allowances for a manufacturer’s declared values. A better energy class alone does not prove every product-quality claim.
Version & Transition
Use amended product measures and current acceptance methods. The ESPR framework does not immediately impose one new numerical rule on every product; the applicable product-specific measure and transition control.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
