GB · GB Construction Products Regulation 2011 and amendments
Construction products in Great Britain
Identify the market and product category first. Each dossier separates legal duties, referenced standards, evidence and the comparison needed for an award.
Product Scope
Construction products within the applicable designated-standard or technical-assessment route, defined by intended incorporation and product family. Building use and installation requirements vary within the UK and are not established solely by a product’s marking.
Requirements
Declare relevant essential characteristics and follow the applicable assessment/verification and factory-production-control system. For the UKCA path use a designated standard or UK Technical Assessment and the required UK approved body. CE remains available under the separate construction-product recognition policy; do not assume the general 2024 marking announcement is the entire legal basis.
Required Evidence
Provide declared intended use, technical specification/assessment, full performance reports, FPC and body evidence, declaration of performance and marking. For a door, facade or insulation assembly confirm that testing covers the actual assembly and installation configuration.
Comparison for the Awards
Compare the actual declared characteristic with the regulatory level for the building use and locality. An improved laboratory class without a legal use reference cannot be presented as exceeding every UK building requirement.
Version & Transition
GOV.UK’s current guidance retains CE and UKCA options for GB. NI follows the applicable EU construction-product system; EU 2024/3110 transition must not be presented as an automatic wholesale replacement of GB rules.
Official Sources
Applicability depends on the product classification, intended use, configuration and actual sales territory. Manufacturing, placing-on-the-market and testing dates, together with transition provisions, are checked as required by each applicable rule. The directory identifies sources; it does not replace assessment of the specific model. Standards are identified by reference, and their authoritative texts remain with the issuing bodies. Official source documents retain their original language.
