Notice and impact assessment

Changes must be reported promptly with the differences before and after the change, dates, reasons, markets and affected reports. Where the original finding is affected, the changed product must not continue to be promoted under the old scope.

Separate treatment of requests

Purely textual corrections follow the correction procedure. Technical changes require verification of affected matters. Added models need their own coverage basis, and new markets are assessed against their own requirements. A request does not itself extend the licence.

History and subsequent records

The outcome states whether the earlier scope is retained, restricted, suspended, superseded or requires a new application, with reasons, dates and affected markets. Earlier and later records are linked, preserving models, conditions, evidence and status history. A change request or upload does not itself create permission or overwrite the existing record.

Identify the change first

Submit the original record, model or configuration differences, date of change, affected markets and reports. Distinguish wording errors, technical changes, new models and additional markets.

Text corrections do not extend award scope

Errors such as product-name spelling or contact details that do not alter the technical scope may be corrected on request, with the history retained. Changes affecting models, critical parameters, testing basis or markets are not ordinary text corrections.

Reassessing evidence after technical changes

Changes to design, materials, components, software, production site or qualifications are assessed to determine whether further testing, restrictions, suspension, a replacement record or a new application is required. Applicants may not simply decide that a change has no impact and continue relying on the original scope.

Additional markets

An award for an earlier market does not replace the new market’s regulatory requirements, laboratory acceptance or evidence. Each additional country or territory requires named jurisdictions and configurations, all applicable requirements and core evidence of performance beyond them. Markets without a separate research page follow the same principle. “Other market” is not an unnamed worldwide extension.

Submitting differences and impact

A change request links the existing award or application and identifies what changed, when, why, affected models and markets, earlier and new configurations, reports and proposed public files. Identifying affected evidence enables the supplementary review scope to be established. Registration or receipt is not approval where key differences remain unresolved.

Outcome, statements and further rights

The case notice states the scope, status, date and reasons, and certificates and permission follow the actual decision. Statements must reflect current scope; an applicant cannot assume a change is immaterial and continue under an earlier permission. Ordinary corrections follow GSQA-REV-003. Formal decisions affecting the party’s record may be challenged under GSQA-REV-002.
