Scope and entitlement to apply

An entitled entity or authorised representative may seek review of a non-award, procedural closure, suspension, revocation or other decision affecting its own record. General public questions may first use complaints or correction; they need not be presented as a review by the applicant.

Time to request reconsideration

Submit within thirty calendar days after receiving the formal decision, identifying its number, receipt date, disputed provisions, reasons and evidence. A late request explains its cause for examination and does not automatically obtain an extension. Non-receipt, inaccessible notices or system failures are examined on their facts and dates; email transmission alone does not establish confirmed receipt.

Acceptance and response

Explain acceptance or further information required within 5 working days. Normally respond within 30 calendar days after the file is complete. For a complex case, give reasons for one extension, normally no longer than 30 calendar days, and state the next specific date.

Independence and outcomes

Personnel not involved in the original verification or decision handle the review. The outcome upholds, changes or returns the matter for further verification, with reasons. Review is free; applying does not activate, extend or restore an award.

Who may request it

Applicants, holders and validly authorised representatives may challenge decisions affecting their application or record, identifying their role, authority and relationship to the case. The public can raise concerns through complaints, correction or misuse reporting without obtaining another party’s private decision file. Such leads are not automatically a reconsideration request by the affected party.

Material and completeness

Provide the decision and receipt date, authority, specific dispute, requested outcome and evidence sources, with report pages and requirements where relevant. An intake request identifies actual missing items rather than repeatedly resetting the request date with general demands. The completeness date and next response date must be identifiable. Original material, new evidence and explanations remain separate.

Submitting a review request

Use the secure channel corresponding to the application, confirm applicant identity and representative authority, and briefly identify the disputed finding or procedural issue. Supporting material must be traceable to the relevant report or requirement. No fee is payable to Gold Standard Quality Awards for requesting review.

Independent review

Personnel who did not participate in the original technical verification or decision consider the grounds, evidence and necessary explanations and issue a reasoned outcome. Requesting review does not activate an award, extend validity or restore a suspended mark licence.

Outcome and other rights

The review outcome states whether the decision is upheld, changed or returned for further action. Update public records or licences through the prescribed procedure where affected. Other rights preserved by mandatory law are not removed by this procedure.

Findings and implementation

The record identifies the review scope, original decision, grounds, evidence and rules, with reasons for upholding, changing or returning the case. A required new technical review is not replaced automatically by the disputed earlier conclusion. Effects on public records, certificates or permission are linked to formal handling and actual dates while retaining history.

Status, charges and other rights

Reconsideration is free. The request itself does not activate or extend an award or restore suspended permission. Results and notices remain in the procedure record so parties can act on the actual outcome. Complaints, judicial remedies and other rights preserved by mandatory law remain available; participation does not require their waiver.
