Document Versions and Amendments
GSQA-DOC-001
Current edition and history
This document applies to submissions and matters assigned to this edition. Each document is identified by its document code and version. Earlier records retain the text and acceptance that actually applied; a website update does not change their applicable rules. Version records preserve the relationship between editions and the time each edition took effect.
Consistency across formats
Web pages, Markdown, PDFs, checklists, declarations, certificates and notices link to the text they actually use. Identify document number, language, version and dates, with accurate download formats and extensions. Reformatting or export is not a new approval of rules. Substantive changes retain their revision and application arrangements.
Pending matters and transition
Cases formally submitted before commencement retain their submission, rules and declarations. Material changes affecting a pending case must identify the changes, application date and actual procedural options; silent file replacement does not establish agreement. Historical decisions continue to state their original basis. Necessary updates create subsequent records through the relevant procedure.
Record the complete applicable edition
In addition to the standard number, record the year, amendments, supplements, issuing body and adoption in the target market. Regional differences require the actual sales territory to be stated. The description “international standard” alone is insufficient.
Check actual transition provisions
Changes to laws or standards may introduce transition periods, market-placement dates or different conditions for specific products. Verifiers record sources and reasons rather than merely replacing an identifier with the latest year.
Earlier reports are not automatically invalid
Check whether methods, clauses or limits have changed, the product configuration is unchanged, and the target market permits reliance on the report. Where differences can be resolved by a justified comparison or additional testing, retain the corresponding records.
Requirements changing after an award
Where new requirements affect the original finding, assess their application date, evidence gaps and necessary restrictions or updates. Historical records retain their original basis and must not be rewritten as if verification under the new standard had already occurred.
Stable references and acceptance evidence
References retain document number, version and stable section identity. Account and application acceptance records identify the text, language, digest or hash, server time, actor and relevant business snapshot. Missing evidence is recorded as missing; earlier generic checkboxes, visits or current text must not be backfilled as acceptance.
Publication, correction and archives
Authorised publication checks revisions, linked documents, translations and downloads and retains a change summary and accurate commencement information. Editorial corrections are distinguished from material changes to conditions, rights or time limits. Archives must reproduce the actual earlier text. Corrected pages, certificates and material link to originals without overwriting their facts.
